Gomti Nagar (Hindi: गोमती नगर, Urdu: گومتی نگر) is an area in North Indian city of Lucknow consisting of both residential and business settlements. It is one of the largest and upcoming areas of Lucknow. Gomti Nagar is an organised settlement developed by Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
It is home to High-end premium residential projects, Malls, IT parks, Commercial property, SEZs, Plots, Business centers, Multiplexes, Clubs, Banks, Food courts, Entertainment centers and Finance institutions.

It is situated on the banks of river Gomti, which flows through Lucknow, hence its name.
Gomti Nagar is now developing as the commercial and IT hub of mainland Lucknow. Till now the Central Lucknow consisting of Hazratganj, Vidhan Sabha Marg & Ashok Marg was the main commercial area. Realty of Gomti Nagar is growing at the rate of 118%. It has the Software Technology Park, Reserve Bank of India Building, NABARD and many other important offices and commercial centers. It boasts of some important National and State level headquarters of SONY, Reliance Retail etc. It also has a developed industrial area with several factories and industrial units.
The Sahara City (सहारा शहर) of the Sahara India Pariwar, including the residence of Mr. Subrata Roy, is also situated in Gomti Nagar.

Whereas Phase-I & II have good occupancy rates, Gomti Nagar Extension is still under construction. Recently the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has ordered for a stay on construction in Gomti Nagar Extension till further orders. [1]
Gomti Nagar is divided into various sectors known as "Khands" and name of all "Khands" start with letter "V".
Lucknow's prime business establishments and offices are situated in Gomti Nagar. It has a Five Star hotel - Taj Residency and a mid range hotel, Comfort Inn. Three shopping malls cum multiplexes (Wave, Fun Republic & Riverside) are situated in Gomti Nagar. Many more shopping malls are under construction.
Many important Government offices like the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), PICUP, Office of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Custom Division, Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), etc. are situated in Gomti Nagar.
Gomti Nagar has two big parks, viz, Bhim Rao Ambedkar Park and Ram Manohar Lohia Park.
Gomti Nagar has a Railway station, which is situated on Lucknow - Barabanki railway line. Another railway station - Malhaur, now falls with in Gomti Nagar. The transportation is mainly road based. It is connected with the city through City Bus, autorickshaw etc.
